This the first unrealeased song to be featured in this series. I don’t remember how but I was introduced to Lawrence with the single from their debut album the kinda funny Do you wanna do nothing with me? when it was released early 2016 which led me to fall in love with the album breakfast that became the soundtrack to my daily bike rides before I had a stroke. The band is formed by a sibling duo of Clyde Lawrence and Grace Lawrence.

Clyde Lawrence

Maybe a overstatement but he’s the genius behind the music of Lawrence. He wrote a song for Miss Congeniality (the movie) when he was 6 years old, his dad wrote and directed the movie and decided to put his infat’s song in the soundtrack and it worked.

Grace Lawrence

If lCyde is the genius behind the music, Grace is the genius behind the performance of the band. Being their live performances a great part of what made they successful one can say they’re 50/50 on it. She’s also an actress and has a badass of a vocal power. Their albuns titles give a good hint on what their music and band is about. They started with Breakfast, then living room, then hotel tv and the last one is family business.

The artist featured with Lawrence on Unwritten: Quinn XCII

I don’t really know him so I asked chatgpt to lend me a paragraph for this one:
Quinn XCII (pronounced “Quinn Ninety-Two”) is an American singer, songwriter, and pop artist known for blending multiple genres, including pop, hip-hop, reggae, electronic, and soul.He started making music while attending Michigan State University, where he began releasing songs on SoundCloud, slowly building a grassroots following. His stage name, Quinn XCII, comes from an acronym for “Quit Unless Your Instincts Are Never Neglected” (QUINN), with “XCII” representing 92 — the year he was born.

Quinn XCII’s music often features introspective lyrics mixed with upbeat, catchy melodies, creating a signature sound that’s both heartfelt and fun. His breakthrough came with his debut album, “The Story of Us” (2017), which included popular tracks like “Straightjacket” — a quirky, infectious song about a toxic relationship.

Talk nerdy to me:

Since this is an unreleased song and I have no absolute ear or music training there will be no nerdy talking about this one from me, but feel free to give a lecture on this in the comments.

Turns out that unwritten is a cover? By someone called Natasha Bedingfield whom I had no idea existed. Lawrence’s cover is way better anyway.
